EWLW Poster - Round 3
I was asked to make a poster for the upcoming Eat Well Live Well Challenge that my company is doing. This is my idea, based on the famous photo of Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston (original here). I've wanted to do something like this for a while, using the type to form a shape or silhouette, but never really had a reason to until now. The final poster will be 8.5" x 14" with full bleed. View full to see fruit and vegetable detail, haha.

New Caricature
I did a new caricature for the end of the Eat Well, Live Well challenge at work. It's a continuation of the last flyer, which had the same "boxing" theme. I was complimented on the likeness right after it went up... wewt.

Random Old Sketches
I found a couple of my old sketches that I thought were kinda funny.
The first is from when I worked at G&W, no doubt drawn during some meeting. It features Strong Bad, after stabbing Homestar Runner. The second is a few post-it notes that I think I had intended to be a series illustrating the dullness of working in my former cubicle. I only got as far as the four extraordinarily exciting panels that you see here.

Caricatures... kinda.
I was asked to do caricatures of two marketing women for a poster at their booth at a trade show. They're kinda more cartoony than caricature-y, but whatev... they seemed pleased. And yes, they're too completely different styles. I'm okay with that. Click to see 'em bigger.

Bridges
Today Steve-o was talking about the new MarioKart game and it reminded me of how the Mushroom Bridge in MarioKart: Double Dash looks just like the Frederick Douglass - Susan B. Anthony Bridge here in Rochester. It even has the boost pads if you were to drive up the arches. I mean... they've gotta be boost pads. Right?

Bielewicz Boys, Drinkin' and Guns
I posted a bunch of photos of our 2008 Annual Bielewicz Pioneer Breakfast in an album here. A bunch of rednecks in the woods with booze and weapons... sounds like a recipe for a good time, right?

More Boxing
I'm working on another poster for the company's second round of the Eat Well Live Well Challenge, and they wanted a sign to increase participation... by making fun of the guy that won the last round.
Here's my initial sketch:
Then here's the caricature - initial scan, cleaned up linework, and colored:
I'm pretty proud of the likeness. Though in truth I'm not sure it's quite a caricature - he pretty much looks like this in real life: big ol' hair and 'stache, same green fleece and khakis every day.
UPDATE: Here's the final poster.
