Sketches from Drawing Mob

I'd never drawn in a gallery before, so drawing at the MAG with a bunch of people was interesting. I drew from sculptures because it seemed a little closer to drawing from life as opposed to recreating other people's art, which seems a little weird. Did four sketches, three that I liked :P

Now Playing

Moved the record player (due to the Christmas tree) and created a little listening station. Now playing: Sufjan Stevens "Illinoise".

Mood Board Piece

This is the piece I was supposed to do over a year ago. Well, not necessarily this piece per se, but a piece on a 6" x 5" piece of black foam core, that would say something about me. I'm interested to see how all the others did, both team members who had done this a while back and ones who are just doing it now.

Theirs probably have color, haha.

iPhone Lens Experiments

I got inspired when Deanna sent me a link to PhotoJoJo's sweet iPhone lenses, so I thought I'd try popping a couple typical SLR lenses up next to the iPhone camera and see what I got. They turned out different than I thought they might, but really neat when you point it at a bright light. Or R2-D2.

Playing with guitar and banjo

I forgot that I'd recorded a little tune I was playing with a few weeks ago, including guitar and banjo. Due to the magic of the iPhone, I recorded it (with multiple tracks) in RecTools Pro, a recording app, then grabbed it from the WiFi syncing feature. Blogger makes me have a video instead of straight-up audio, so you get the nice little title slide. Hooray.

Old Man Card

I made a movie poster as a birthday card for my Dad's fishing buddy. I can't wait to be retired. Even if people make fun of me for being old :P

I'll Fall With Your Knife

For no apparent reason, I decided to record myself doing a cover of Peter Murphy's 1995 song "I'll Fall With Your Knife." It's all me, it was fun, bwahaha.

New records and cookies?

Thaaaaat's... pretty much the best day ever.

Deanna and I went to the record show at Village Gate (which was put on by the Bop Shop) where there were a whole bunch of vinyl vendors, voraciously vying for my moneys. Needless to say, they were victorious. I mean, c'mon—extended dance mix of David Bowie's "Underground" from The Labyrinth? That is eight well-spent dollars.

And this Ani record is this neat blue color with streaks of white.

Then there were cookies.

As I said, quite probably the best day ever.

Haunted Rochester Piece

I did a piece for the Haunted Rochester show at the Grass Roots Gallery. It's awesome to be making artwork again. And also updating my blog, spurred on by Deanna's frequent updates. Score.
