Voices

So I've started doing auditions for voiceover work. I had done one or two narration pieces for documentary type pieces over the years, and had one teacher in college who sought me out to narrate a class project, so I thought it might be a fun thing to try out.

I set up a page on Voices.com with a couple demos, provided by friends in the ad business. (Thanks for those, btw!) I'll need a real reel soon, but this should work for now.

I've been reading a whole bunch of auditions, haven't landed anything yet, but I'm hopeful. This one was a super fun read, a 5K with a "zombie" theme. I actually missed the (tight) deadline for auditions, but thought it was worth the practice, so I'll share it here instead. The instructions were as follows:

Client:
Run For Your Lives
Project:
2012 Radio
Title:
“One Day Soon”
Length:
:50
Date:
6.12.12
ANNCR Casting spec – (Male. 25-40). Should have an authoritative tone. The beginning delivery must be genuinely scary. Not like “kidding-around” scary, but authentically “holy-$#!+” scary. After the music stops, the announcer has to turn 180 degrees into a jovial party animal with a fun and energetic spirit.

Here's what I would have submitted:

Let me know if you need any voice work, I'll be happy to do an audition!
