Lotsa Fun Things

I've taken a little bit of downtime lately, and it's given me the opportunity to do a couple fun things:

FUN THING #1: FILM FESTIVAL
I love movies. I've always wanted to make movies. I made a couple short, no-budget mockumentaries (and corresponding songs) in college and I loved doing it.

So now I'm 29, I have a bunch of really talented friends, and we all have the know-how (and equipment) required to make some awesome little films. Welcome to the Awesometown Film Festival (stupid working title pending).

FUN THING #2: NEW SONGS
I love making and recording my own music, and when I got my bass back from the shop I was inspired to make some new little demos. These are both unfinished, full of scratch tracks and whatnot, but I just like to get the ideas to tape before I forget them :P

The verse riff of this kinda quirky rock song was in my head when I woke up the other day:

This is a kind of Flaming Lips meets Radiohead jam I did today:

I have a huge back catalog of short, odd demos that I've made over the years. I'll keep posting them as I go along. Woooo!

Cobb's Hill Reservoir & Ontario Beach Park

We hiked up to the reservoir again today, mostly cause we're feeling fat after holiday food-fests. I still want to see the graffiti-laden water towers, but we couldn't find a path leading to them that didn't involve bushwhacking through super steep, mudslidey slopes. Maybe if we approach from the other side we'll find a passable trail.

The sky was neat though, it was an odd mixture for January—high 40-degree weather and quite a bit of breeze, little bit of rain.

Our adventure quota still hadn't been fulfilled, so we went to Ontario Beach Park, as neither of us had been there in the winter. It was pretty neat with no one around.

Christmas Photos! Mostly of food!

As I uploaded the photos from our Christmas celebrations at home here in Rochester, in Clarence and in Ontario, I realized they're pretty much all of food. I can't help it, I guess... food looks SO GOOOD MMMMM.

Also there are some of presents.

Good Christmas! Woooo!

"I'm a present!"

My awesome helicopter. It flies soo gooood.

How could I resist using a fish cut-out?

The (apparently inappropriately-sized) ladle.

Mmm... bacon.

—Christmas in Ontario—

Mmmm... mimosas.

"Oh bother...," says Willow.

"**** off," says Zorro.

It's a little known fact that baby Jesus was visited by an out-of-scale gnome on the night of his birth.

Mmm... horseradish.

Mmm... two kinds of Polish sausage.

Ukes for everyone!
